Ethernet Alliance Announces Successful Completion of IEEE 802.3bz Standard

In September, the Ethernet Alliance ratified IEEE 802.3bz, the Standard for Ethernet Amendment: Media Access Control Parameters, Physical Layers, and Management Parameters for 2.5 Gb/s and 5Gb/s Operation.

This update enables access layer bandwidth to increase and evolve beyond the previous standard of 1 Gb/s (Gigabit per second) and this new standard will help address emerging connectivity needs, including applications within enterprise, wireless networks, and more. There is no longer the need to upgrade to more expensive infrastructure and overhaul with Cat 5e/Cat 6 wiring, when now speeds up to five times as fast are allowed to meet data demands.

The updated IEEE 802.3bz helps meet the demands for faster access to rapidly rising data volumes and provides buildings and organizations to capitalize on previous infrastructure investments and increase their value.

All About Network Communications

Should I use a C or CS Mount?
